Arlene, or "Ms. Mac," as many knew her, was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa on June 9, 1936.

She graduated from Iowa Central Community College with a degree in nursing.

She married her lifelong sweetheart Leonard "Sonny" McPherson on Nov. 27, 1952 and together they raised five children: Constance, Craig, Christopher, Shawn, and Mishelle.

They had many successful businesses, and lived in and traveled to many states before living out 30 years in Carrabelle.

Arlene and Leonard built many houses together, raced motorcycles, raised cattle and always enjoyed planning the next adventure together.

Arlene served with the heart of a caregiver and was a director of nursing for over 40 years. She was well-loved by her colleagues at the several nursing homes she worked.

Arlene was preceded in death by parents Ervin Lewis and Dorthey Lucille Sanck, and son Craig Lee McPherson.

She is survived by her adoring husband, Leonard; children and grandchildren; Constance McPherson (Cara and Emily), Christopher McPherson (Christie and Amanda), Shawn McPherson (Dustin), and Mishelle McPherson (Jenny, Kayla, and Nichole); 18 great-grandchildren; brother William (Linda) Sanck; and many friends.

A private ceremony will be held at the family's home at a later date.
