Charles E.
Bosby
Dec 31, 1953 — Dec 12, 2024
Deacon Charles E. Bosby, Sr.
Deacon Charles E. Bosby, Sr., affectionately known as "My Deacon", was born to Katie Lou Bonner (Morgan) and the late Robert Earl Miller on December 31, 1953, in Centerville, Alabama. He was raised in Tallahassee, Florida where he graduated from FAMU Development Research School and retired from Big Bend Transit.
Charles was known for being a passionate father, a giver, and encourager, who didn't judge others. Many knew "Chuck D" for proudly raising his kids Tamara, Charles, Jr., and Darael as a single parent, and others considered him to be a father to those with no father, and a true friend indeed.
On October 20, 1998, Deacon Bosby was joined in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Mother Rosemary Bosby. Their love was unfailing. She was his heart and he undoubtedly loved her, their children, and their family. He then went on to join Prayer Temple Church of God in Christ, where he later accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Deacon Bosby later went on to serve as the Sunday School Superintendent, Usher Board member, and the Chairman of Prayer Temple's Deacon Board, where he was honored to coordinate the annual "Men in Black and White" program.
Charles was very skillful and passionate about upholstery, hence opening his own business, Custom Design Upholstery. He was well sought out in the Big Bend area for his expertise in interior and vehicular upholstery enhancements. He took pride in his work.
He loved football; Florida State University and Alabama were his favorites. He also enjoyed westerns, music, art, and fishing at every stage…from catching them to eating them.
Above all, Deacon Bosby loved the Lord. If compared to a biblical man of God, it would be Paul. He had a made-up mind about his walk with the Lord and he never turned back. Therefore, when his name was changed from "Crunch or Chuck" to "Deacon Bosby", he remained dedicated and faithful until he answered his call to come home and rest. He was a true believer and servant of God ad took his humble position as Deacon very serious, requiring to no longer be called "Charles Bosby", but "DEACON CHARLES BOSBY".
This is the final journey of Deacon Charles Bosby's life. But, the greatest of all on his life's journey…when asked if he was saved, sanctified and filled with the Holy Spirit, he answered STRONGLY AND BODLY, "Yes, and HE (Jesus) is number ONE", and he would raise one finger in the air. MY HUSBAND, MY DADDY, MY DEACON, OUR BROTHER, OUR UNCLE, OUR FRIEND, OUR INTERCESSOR, OUR HELP IN TIMES OF TROUBLE, you will be missed. We are so grateful, blessed, and thankful that the Lord shared Deacon Charles Bosby, his loving son, with us.
Charles was preceded in death by his son, Darael Bosby; daughter, Latavia "Tiny" Dover; and two brothers, Walter Bosby, Jr. and James Bosby.
He leaves to cherish his love: his devoted wife, Mother Rosemary Bosby; his mother, Mother Kattie Lou Morgan; two daughters, Tamara Bosby and Shonte (Mario) Chavers; sons, Charles Bosby, Jr., Patrick Royster, Reginald Williams, and Marterious (Brittney) Dover; sisters, Gloria (Alfred) Lamb, Denise Bosby, Priscilla (Gary) Scott, Cassandra Cooper, and Angela Cotton; brothers, Danny (Carol) Miller, Robert (Kimberly) Earl, and Rodney (Linda) Miller; twenty-one grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
