While surrounded by her family, Dorsie Helms Teague Byrd, life long resident of Escatawpa, Mississippi, passed on Monday, November 11, 2024, in Sopchoppy, Florida.

She was born July 23, 1941 in Isola, Mississippi to the late Leroy and Grace Helms of Escatwpa, Mississippi.

Dorsie was an amazing, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin. She work at a day care for twenty-eight years before retiring. She was a very giving person. She enjoyed cooking, doing crafts, and tending to her plants; but most of all she loved being with her family.

Dorsie was preceded in death by husbands, Eugene Teague and Randell Byrd; and her beloved sons, Gary Teague and David Teague.

Dorsie is survived by her children, Kenneth Teague (Amy), Melinda Smith (Tom), and Shelia Walley (David); thirteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Jessie Helms (Cheryl), Ronald Helms (Wanda), and Mitchell Helms (Cindy); numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Dorsie was loved by all and will be truly missed.
