Eric Leon Reddick
1984-2021

God saw the road was getting rough, the hills was hard to climb.
He gently closed Eric's eyes and whispered, "Peace Be Thine."

Eric said: "I will lift up my eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help!" (Psalm 121:1)

On July 16, 1984 in Tallahassee, Florida, Matthew, Jr. and Shirley Ann Keaton Reddick was blessed with the birth of a son, Eric Leon Reddick. Eric grew up in a household that was full of love and good ethics.

Eric confessed Christ at an early age under the leadership of the late Rev. A. I. Dixon and joined Welaunee Missionary Baptist Church. He later moved his membership to Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Charles G. Smith.

Eric attended public schools in Jefferson County, Monticello, Florida and graduated in 2002.  His heart for children and work ethics led him to pursue a career in social work. In 2009 Eric graduated from FAMU earning a degree in social work. Eric later pursued a master's degree in public administration, majoring in organizational management at Capella University.

Eric's diverse educational background and work experience allowed him to hold several positions within his area of expertise. He was formerly employed by the Department of Children and Families, Disc Village, Family Resource Center of South Florida (Miami, FL), the Boys and Girls Club of America in Tallahassee, Florida, where he served as assistant club director. Eric's last tenure was at Children Home Society (Miami, FL) until his demise.

On October 6, 2021, at Mount Sinai Medical Center Hospital, Miami, FL, Eric received his wings and went home to be with the Lord. Those who are left to share his precious memories and everlasting love are: his father, Matthew Reddick , Jr. of Tallahassee, FL ; his sister, Latasha Reddick (Darrell) Seabrooks; his nephews, Jakari Seabrooks & Ka'Marian "KJ" Seabrooks; his god-brother, Derrick D. (Liowanda)Plummer; and his god-daughter Honestly Miller all of Monticello, FL. Eric also leaves his aunts, Jeanette K Thompson, Joann Leland Thompson and Gloria Washington Thompson all of Tallahassee, FL,  Delois Banks of Pensacola, FL, Evonna Williams and Josephine G. Blackmon both Monticello, FL, Saundra G.(Russell) Bingham of Orlando, FL, Mary Elizabeth Reddick Moore of Tallahassee, FL, Cloreather Reddick Keaton of Tampa, FL, Paula Reddick and Emily Reddick (Jerome) Anderson Wacissa, FL; his uncles, Ed (Doris) Keaton and Jewell Jerome(Barbara) Reddick all of Monticello, FL;  William Jeremiah(Candice) Reddick of Miami, FL; a host of cousins other relatives and devoted friends.

Eric was proceeded in death by his mother, Shirley Ann Keaton Reddick; his maternal grandparents, John Henry and Aggie Bell Keaton Thompson; his paternal grandparents, Matthew Sr. and Emily Bell Reddick; his uncles, Clarence, Reginald, John Henry, Jr. and Richard Martin Thompson, Sr., Lester, Jimmy and Donald Reddick; and his aunts, Andrea, Gloria and Geraldine Thompson.
