Williams
May 31, 1942 — Aug 13, 2024
In Loving Memory of Hubert Williams
Hubert Williams, a dedicated retired police officer, schoolteacher, bus driver and beloved community member, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2024, at the age of 82. Hubert was born on May 31, 1942, in Sylvester, Georgia to Bessie Hood and Willie Williams, and devoted his life to serving and protecting his community with unwavering commitment.
Hubert joined the Titusville Police Department in 1967, where he spent over 25 years as a patrol officer, sergeant, detective, lieutenant, and eventually retiring as a captain. His career was marked by a deep sense of duty, integrity, and compassion. He was known not only for his sharp skills but also for his ability to connect with people from all walks of life. His legacy includes numerous awards, promotions, and commendations, but his greatest achievement was the respect and admiration he earned from his family, colleagues, and the community he served.
After retiring in 1992, Hubert remained an active and valued member of his community. He volunteered with local youth programs and was a staunch advocate for public safety and community welfare. His post-retirement years were filled with family, travel, and a continued dedication to enriching the community of Monticello, Florida by becoming a schoolteacher retiring in 2004, and a public-school bus driver retiring in 2018.
Hubert was a loving husband to his wife Danielle; a devoted father to his children, James, Sharon, Rhonda, Anthony, Hubert, Val, Chris (Brooke), Alversia, Ethel, Laureathea, Lasonja, Tina, Geri, Delbert and Stacie; and a doting grandfather to his 48 grandchildren, and 54 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his siblings Vanilla, Willie Lee, Lonzie May, Artis, Charles, Jason, David, Alma, Curtis, and daughter Sharon, and survived by his sister, Betty and brother Eddie Lee, and many other cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss his kindness, humor, and wisdom.
Hubert Williams dedication, compassion, and continued public service will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of service and his spirit of generosity will continue to inspire those who follow in his footsteps.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Big Bend chapter of the Boys & Girls Club, as this was an organization that was close to Hubert's heart.
