Karen Lee
Long
Dec 5, 1957 — Aug 24, 2021
Karen Lee Long was an amazing mother to her children. She was known to have a deep, sweetening, special kind of love for her grandchildren. Karen truly believed in bringing the family together; as a consequence, she loved planning events. Because she loved her family so dearly, Karen installed a huge family tree with her relative's photographs on the wall in her home.
Karen loved spending time at the beach. She like decorating her home with different themes such as cows, owls and angels; however, she loved her John Deere decor most of all. In fact, she loved anything that had John Deere on it, mugs, figurines, apparel, et cetera.
Karen was a member of Panacea First Baptist Church. She was employed for several years at Posey's Restaurant in Panacea. She was known throughout the area for her sweet gentle spirit.
On Tuesday, August 24th, 2021, Karen went home to be with the Lord. She is survived by her four children, Donna (T.C.) Hamilton, Danny (Angela) Carter, Daniel (Chelsea) Carter and Michael (Alyshia) Carter; her two sisters, Donna Kent and Gloria (Mike) McNear; her two brothers, Donnie Long and Dennis (Sherri) Long; nineteen grandchildren, Dylan, Heaven, Gabriel, Brianna, Jacob, Payton, Adrienne, Matthew, Justin, Colby, Grayson, Ashton, Baileigh, Arik, Aiden, Sandra, Cassidy, Hayden and Olivia; five great-grandchildren, Paislee, Rylee, Jackson, Landon and Erilyn; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Myrtis J. and Wade Long; her brothers, Michael W. Long, Danny Long and Dale Long; her beloved grandson, Joshua A. Carter.
