Brother Lee Olice Giles, Jr. was born on August 21, 1967, in Gadsden County, Florida, to Janice Crews Giles and Lee Olice Giles, Sr.
Lee confessed his faith in Jesus Christ at Shiloh Community Missionary Baptist Church & Outreach Center in Quincy, Florida, under the spiritual leadership of Elder Jerome Pendleton. His faith remained a source of strength throughout his life.
Lee received his formal education in Fort Myers, Florida. He was known as a dedicated, dependable, and hardworking individual whose work ethics left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of working with him. Throughout his career, he held various jobs, including employment with the Stevi B's Pizza franchise. His supervisor often spoke highly of Lee, describing him as the best employee he had ever worked with. He frequently used Lee as an example of excellence, dedication, and integrity during meetings and conferences. Even after Lee's employment there ended, his supervisor remained in contact with him until the heartbreaking news of his passing.
On Wednesday, July 1, 2026, while at UF Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida, Brother Giles' humble spirit departed this earthly life and went home to be with the Lord.
Though his earthly journey has ended, his legacy of faith, humility, perseverance, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of his wife and caregiver, Kathleen Lanier of Quincy, FL; two daughters, Kalea Giles of Quincy, FL and Le'Tara (Islord) Milice of Absecon, NJ; a son DeAndre Barnes of Atlanta, GA; his bonus children, Ma'Kayla Reese of Quincy, FL and Jakari Scott of Crawfordville, FL; grandson, Jeremiah Berry of Quincy, FL; six sisters, Carolyn (Dennis) Roberson, Diane Goodson, Jacquelyn (Christopher, Sr.) Goodson, and Alicia Giles all of Quincy, FL; Sheila McCallister of Jacksonville, FL, and Catrena Giles of Ft. Myers, FL; a brother, Robert Lee (Tanya) Giles of Ft. Myers, FL; a devoted cousin like a brother, Terrison Vinders of Ft. Myers, FL; aunts, Betty (David) Shellman of Gretna, FL, Regina (Sgt. Jesse) Harden of Tallahassee, FL; and Gloria Crews both of Quincy, FL, Lula McMillian, Katie Mae Jones, and Leola Robinson all of Ft. Myers, FL; uncle, Otis Giles of Ft. Myers, FL; a special father-in-law and porch buddy, Walter Lanier, Sr. of Quincy, FL; a sister-in-law, Jennifer Lanier of Tallahassee, FL; a brother-in-law, Walter Lanier, Jr. of Glenn Burnie, MD; a devoted family friend, Sharon Burroughs of Jacksonville, FL, a devoted cousin, Tracy (Derrick) Robinson of Quincy, FL; his very special friends, Carl (Theresa) McElwain of Tallahassee, FL and Alexander Moore of Quincy, FL; his caring neighbors/security, Willie and Marcus Russ both of Quincy, FL; his fur babies, Rocco and Brookie; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Lee was proceeded in death by his parents, Janice Crews Giles and Lee Olice Giles Sr. ;his paternal grandparents, Pearlie Mae and Kelsey Giles; and his maternal grandparents, Odell Kirkland Crews and Morgan Crews Sr.
Viewing/Visitation will be 4-6 PM, THURSDAY, July 9, 2026
