Linda Darlene Melvin Knopp, lovingly known as "DARLENE", passed away on October 5, 2020 in the comfort of her home. She was born on November 2, 1948 in Apalachicola, Florida. Darlene was known for her kindness and gentle spirit. Darlene was employed by the Florida Department of Corrections for 15 years at Gulf Correctional Institution and Gulf C. I. Annex.

She is survived by her husband of twenty-five years, John E. Knopp; her son, Doug Scarabin; her stepson, John W. Knopp (Jill); her stepdaughters, Cissy Corbitt (Charlie), Sheri Watson (Chris) and Deborah Buckner (Mike); her sister, Joy Newton (Carey); her brother Doug Melvin; her grandchildren; step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her special friends, Patricia Lichardello and Richard Scarabin.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Peddie and Clyde Melvin; and her son, Richard Scarabin, Jr.
