Malcolm Montrey Norton
1989 - 2026
Malcolm Montrey Norton was born on October 8, 1989, in Tallahassee, Florida, to his loving parents, Natasha Thompson Norton and Mack Norton, Jr. He was raised in the Monticello area and graduated from Lincoln High School, Class of 2007.
During his youth, Malcolm was an avid baseball player and was actively involved in AWANA, where his faith began to take deep root. Immediately after high school, he answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Marine Corps. Malcolm served for four years and was stationed in Oahu, Hawaii.
After completing his military service, Malcolm returned home to Monticello, Florida, where he was employed with PS Art for an extended period. Following the conclusion of his time there, he became a protégé of his beloved "Uncle Nard," working with irrigation and landscaping. Malcolm later worked briefly with Esposito's Nursery, where he further developed his skills and knowledge in the field.
Malcolm was known for his gentle spirit and kind heart. He never met a stranger and was naturally outgoing, making friends wherever he went. He enjoyed all sports, like his father he had a particular interest in firearms; Malcolm was an exceptional marksman.
A deeply philosophical thinker, Malcolm loved reading and could often be found watching Jeopardy in his leisure time. His strong faith in God was essential to his life, and he welcomed discussions about scripture with anyone, at any time. Because of his passion for thoughtful and spirited conversation, he affectionately became known as "The Great Debater."
On Monday, January 12, 2026, Malcolm answered the Master's call. He will be remembered for his kindness, faith, and the meaningful conversations he shared with so many. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Malcolm's memory will forever remain in the hearts of his devoted mother, Natasha Thompson Norton; a sister, Amber Norton; brother, Jacari Norton; niece, Carmen McDuffy; grandparents, Catherine and Mack Norton, Sr.; aunts, Teresa "Penny" Thompson, Sandra (Cory) Wright, Diane (Nathaniel) Thompson, and Leola Reddick; uncles, Michael (Beverly) Boyd, Willie Boyd, Williard Thompson, and Kendrick Norton; godmother, Helen Cuyler; his bonus family, Michael, Jill, Shawna and Tyler Endicott; and host of other relatives and friends.
Malcolm was preceded in death by his father, Mack Norton, Jr. and his grandparents, Margaret Louise Boyd Thompson and Willard Philmore Thompson.
