Mar 28, 1958 — Jun 5, 2023
Mark Lowell McLain
Mark Lowell McLain, 65, passed peacefully at his home in Sopchoppy, Florida, on June 5, 2023.
Mark was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, to Sue Hart and Lowell Emo McLain. Mark was a United States Navy veteran. During his tenure with the Navy, he served as a boiler maker on a Navy destroyer from 1976 to 1980.
Mark resided with his wife, Gail DeLozier, on N. T. Simth Road in Sopchoppy. His passion in life was welding and ironworking, which allowed him to utilize his talent on numerous large jobs throughout the South. After 9/11, he wanted so much to go to New York and have a part in rebuilding the towers. It was most important to him to engrave his signature into the iron.
Mark was a wonderful person and had many friends and family members who loved him dearly.
Those left to cherish his memories and undying love include: his wife, Gail DeLozier; his ninety-five-year-old mother, Sue Hart McLain; two sisters, Mazey Strauso and Molley McLain; a son, Justin McLain; two grandchildren, Gracelyn and "Bubba" McLain; and several other relatives and friends.
