Mary Elizabeth
Crum
Apr 4, 1951 — Jun 21, 2026
"Betty"
Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Crum, a beloved wife, family member, friend, and faithful servant of the Lord, answered her Heavenly Father's call on Sunday, June 21, 2026. Betty went to her eternal home, where she now rests high on that mountain.
Betty was born on April 4, 1951, in Tallahassee, Florida, to John Woodrow "Radio" Braswell and Elizabeth "Libby" Braswell. She was known for her kind heart, strong faith, and love for family.
On December 14, 1976, she married the love of her life, James Benedict "Dick" Crum. Together they shared 49 years of love, devotion, and cherished memories.
Betty found great joy in spending time with her family and creating beautiful crafts. She especially enjoyed making beaded keychains, many of which became treasured keepsakes for family, friends, and countless others. She also loved taking photographs of her loved ones. It was important to her that family memories be preserved through photographs, and she took pride in documenting the lives of those she loved most.
A devoted Christian, Betty loved the Lord with all her heart and was deeply passionate about her church. Even as her health began to decline, she remained faithful in attending services at Eden Springs, where she worshiped under the leadership of Pastor Barwick. Betty knew her Bible well and never hesitated to share her faith or engage in meaningful conversations about Scripture with anyone willing to listen.
Throughout her life, Betty lovingly cared for children as a childcare provider for numerous families. Her nurturing spirit and compassionate heart made a lasting impact on the many children and parents whose lives she touched.
Betty was also well known for her exceptional couponing skills. Her talent for stretching a dollar and helping others save money earned her recognition and even a feature on television.
Those who knew Betty will remember her as a kind, loving, and generous woman whose faith guided every aspect of her life. Her gentle spirit, unwavering devotion to her family, and steadfast trust in God will forever be cherished.
Left to forever cherish her memory and love are her devoted husband of 49 years, James Benedict "Dick" Crum, along with a host of other relatives and friends who were blessed to know and love her. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth Braswell.
Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that she is resting peacefully in the presence of her Lord and Savior. Her legacy of faith, love, kindness, and service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23
