Mattie Lee Branton

Mattie Lee Branton was born on Tuesday, September 10, 1957 in Tallahassee, Florida to the late Isreal Branton and Gussie James.

Mattie attended the public school system of Atlantic Beach, FL, graduating from Fletcher Senior High School in 1976.  Years later, she relocated back to her birthplace and devoted more than 20 years of service in the childcare industry. Respectfully, she received multiple honors and accolades in recognition of her outstanding contributions. She was a very loving and generous person, who never wavered in her faith in the Lord and Savior. She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling.  She will be deeply missed.

On Saturday, November 25, 2023 God welcomed Mattie, a devoted mother, daughter, sister, and aunt, home to eternal rest.

Mattie leaves to cherish her memory a loving daughter, Markitha (Samuel Jr.) Easterling of Atlantic Beach, FL; son, Jesse Banks, Jr.; grandchildren, Nysha Ghee, Derrick Ghee Jr., Marquis Ghee, Elisha Jean-Pierre, Emmanuel Jean-Pierre, Jesse James Banks III, Jacarri Jamille Banks, Justice James Banks, Jessa Janae Banks, Jahkyi James Banks; brother, Homer (Jeanette) James; sisters, Ernestine Graham, Rhonda (Lawrence) Hall, Mable Dixon of St. Augustine, FL; friends, Sandra Copeland, Connese Medlock; and a host of uncles, aunties, cousins, nieces and nephews, and other devoted friends.

Viewing/Visitation will be @ 4-6pm, FRIDAY, December 8, 2023

Funeral Service will be at 11 AM, SATURDAY, December 9, 2023
@ St. Peter Primitive Baptist Church (2526 Centerville Rd; Tallahassee, FL 32308)

INTERMENT will be SATURDAY, December 9, 2023
@ Clifford Hill Cemetery
