Michael Jamere Walker

Michael Jamere Walker was born to the late Rebecca Ann Morris and Gregory Mathias Walker on July 14, 1989, in Jefferson County, Florida. After the untimely passing of his mother, the young Michael was raised by the late Suzie M. Scurry and Hampton Scurry, his maternal grandmother and step-grandfather.

At an early age, Michael accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined Young Reaper Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville, FL. Michael was educated in the Jefferson County School System. He was a Certified Surveyor for Delta Land Surveyors for many years. He loved listening to country music and sporting cowboy hats, boots, and sunglasses. His favorite color was black.

Michael's earthly story closed on May 9, 2023. Among those left to cherish the good times and shared memories are: his father, Gregory Mathias Walker of Poughkeepsie, NY; five cousins who were all raised together as siblings, Jenetha (Clarence) Mays, Johnny (Neva) Ball, Fredrick Alexander, Ezekiel Alexander, and Calvin (Tiana) Alexander III all of Monticello, FL; aunts, Annie (Eddie) McCray of Greenville, FL, Johnnie Mae (Earnest) Redding and Barbara Sue Morris both of Monticello, FL, Wanda Walker of Beacon, NY, and Donna Walker of Austin, TX; uncles, Willie (Tawanna) Mutch of Tallahassee, FL, Freddie (Cynthia) Morris and Ray Morris both of Greenville, FL, and, Jimmy Morris and Bennie C. (LaTrease) Morris both of Monticello, FL; and, a host of cousins, relatives, and sorrowing friends.

Those that transitioned before Michael include: his mother, Rebecca Ann Morris; his grandmothers, Suzie M. Scurry, and Emma L. Barnes; his grandfather, Cliff Walker, Jr.; his aunt, Georgia L. Barnes; and, his uncle, Eddie Charles Walker.

Viewing/Visitation will be @ 3-6pm, May 19, 2023
