Lola J. Shackelford formerly of Port Saint Joe, FL, age 82 passed away on September 16, 2022. Lola was born to the late Lillian Owens on July 7, 1940. Lola was raised by Manual and Gertrude Jackson in Port St Joe Florida. She was married to the late Jarious Shackelford, Jr. on May 16, 1957.

Lola joined Zion Fair Missionary Baptist Church where she grew in the knowledge of the Lord. She was a believer in God's word and throughout her life she studied the word daily to show herself approved; correspondingly, Lola became an ordained minister. She joined New Life Christian Center located in Tallahassee, Florida where she continued her journey to teach and minister the word of God to any who she met her. Lola was a proud grandmother who always had an encouraging word to say to each of her family members.

Lola leaves behind three children, Cassandra Shackelford, Sarita Shackelford (Kermit) Smith, Marion (Chrissie) Shackelford, Sr. and Step Daughter Thelma Davis; her eleven grandchildren, D'Artagnan Shackelford, Shanreka Shackelford, Ryan Mitchell, Pernell Mitchell, Denise Hunter, Marion (Brenda) Shackelford, Jr., Robert Mitchell, Tyrone (Whitney) Shackelford, Tiffany Shackelford, Janay Shackelford, and Marquis (Katelyn) Shackelford; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; her brother Joe Owens and her sister Luziar Owens-Castophney; a loving friend and caregiver, Flo Withers; and a host of nephews, nieces and friends who will truly miss her. She was preceded in death by her son Gregory L. Shackelford.

Viewing/Visitation will be 1 HOUR before the funeral service, SATURDAY, September 24, 2022
