Obituary

Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt
To love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law."
Romans 13:8 NIV

Lois Cain Hankins was the daughter of the late Willie C. Cain and Leona Gilley. She was born September 8, 1940 in Thomas County, Georgia. She departed this life on May 5, 2022 at the Margaret Z Dozier Hospice House in Tallahassee, Florida.

At the age of sixteen, she graduated from New Union High School, Boston, Georgia on May 13, 1957. She also accepted Christ at an early age and was a devoted and faithful servant.

Lois attended and completed the course requirements for Practical Nursing on December 17, 1971. Her career started with twelve years of service at Camellia Gardens of Life Care ending in 1989. Continuing her career path, she served for a little over two years at Archbold Home Health. On September 1, 2002, after eleven more years of dedication to excellence in providing quality health care, Lois retired from The State of Georgia and Southwestern State Hospital.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her three daughters, Leona Elaine (William) Massey and Julie Ann Hankins both residing in Monticello, Florida, and Pamela Jane (Kenneth) Governal of Killeen, Texas; her son, Joseph Louis (Olivia) Hankins, Jr. of Phenix City, Alabama; her grandchildren, Sean, Joshua, Shaumese, Nicole, Brandi, Kyyah, Ayanna, Quillan, Eugenae and Samson; ten great-grandchildren; her sisters, Louise Barnhill and Bernetta Cain; her brothers; Wade Cain, Albert Cain, John Cain, and Clyde Cain; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband of 63 years, Reverend Joseph Hankins and her brother, Leroy Cain.

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
2 Corinthians 3:17 NIV
