Obituary

Sister Rosa Lee Walker
"SHULAR"

Sister Rosa Lee Walker was born on Sunday, January 10, 1937, in Monticello, Florida. She was the youngest of five children born to the late George Walker and Molly Crumity Walker. She entered the world with humble beginnings and values that would become the foundation of an extraordinary life. Raised with a deep appreciation for hard work, faith, and family, she carried those principles with her throughout her journey.

At an early age, Ms. Rosa Lee accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, understanding the importance of salvation and being born again to attain a heavenly resting place. Through her unwavering devotion to God, family, and community, she exemplified a life of faith, humility, and service.

Ms. Rosa Lee was affectionately known to many as "Ms. Shular." She was known for her warm and welcoming spirit and spent many years providing hospitality services. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She cherished every opportunity to gather with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Whether she was cooking, fishing, dancing, listening to music, or playing bingo ("bango," as Ms. Shular called it), she approached life with joy, passion, and love.

On Sunday, May 24, 2026, Sister Rosa Lee Walker, at the age of 89, humbly submitted to the Master's Call and went home to rest from her earthly labors.

Cherishing her memory and honoring her enduring legacy are her loving and devoted family: two sons, Willie James Walker of Quitman, Georgia, and Eddie James (Angela) Walker of Thomasville, Georgia; four daughters, Doris (Joe Nathan) Howard, Brenda (Samuel) Howard, Carolyn (Richard) Walker, and Kimberly (Henry) Wilson, all of Monticello, Florida; and two special daughters whom she raised as her own, Frances (Timothy) Slater and Sheila Robertson, both of Tallahassee, Florida.

She also leaves to cherish her memory 38 grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by her love and kindness.

Ms. Rosa Lee was preceded in death by a legacy of family: her parents, George Walker and Molly Crumity Walker; two beloved daughters, Rosetta Norton and Alberta Walker; one son, William Harris; siblings, Lula Beverly, Maria Wade, Ruby Harris, and George Walker; her grandchildren, Kenya Norton and Jamar Walker; her great-grandson, Reshard Morrell; and her great-great-grandson, Tyler Morrell-Tyson.
