Obituary

Simon "Bubba" WIlliams, Jr.

Simon "Bubba" Williams, Jr. was born on Wednesday, February 8, 1950, in Monticello, Florida, to the late Simon Williams Sr. and Eva Jones. Simon was educated in the public schools of Jefferson County and later earned his certification in brick masonry, a trade he proudly mastered and practiced.

Simon accepted Christ at Greater Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, where he served faithfully as an usher and a member of the deacon board. His faith was the foundation of his life.

Simon dedicated many years of faithful service to the City of Monticello until his retirement. He was most recently an employee at the Jefferson County Solid Waste & Recycling. Known for his hard work, humility, and dedication, he was respected by all who had the pleasure of working alongside him.

A man who appreciated the simple joys of life, Simon especially loved fishing, hunting, and caring for his six cherished goats. He was deeply rooted in his community and was passionate about giving back. He took great pride in organizing the Second Harvest Food Drive, helping to provide for those in need.

Simon Williams Jr. peacefully entered eternal rest on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 4:51 PM at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Simon's legacy of love and service will continue to live on in the hearts of his children, Simone Williams and Jonathan (Sara) Williams; his loving companion, Georgiana Barker; and stepchildren, Mellisa M. Allen, Wanda (George White) Jackson, Rosetta Barker, and Angelo Barker. He was the proud grandfather of four precious grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Elnora Williams, Gwenn (William) Suggs, and Darrell (Tasha) Seabrooks; a sister-in-law, Peggy Seabrooks; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Simon Williams Sr. and Eva Jones; stepson, John Barker; and siblings, Ulysses Williams, Gregory Seabrooks, Eddie Williams, Samuel Williams, Richard Williams, and Rozell Bryant.

Simon Williams, Jr. will be remembered for his gentle spirit, generous heart, and unwavering devotion to faith, family, and community. His legacy of love and service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
