Vernon Dale Long , age 60, passed away January 9, 2020 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital surrounded by love and prayers. Dale was born in Bartow, Florida, March 12, 1959 to Wade H. Long and Myrtis J. Rigdon Long.

He was an avid fisherman and he very seldom passed up a chance to be on the water with pole or net in hand. Dale's family loved him very much and described him as his own man.

Dale left behind many friends and family including his son: Steven Wade Long, brothers: Donald Long and Dennis Long; sisters: Donna Kent, Gloria McNear and Karen Long; grandchildren: Wade and Brittany; great grandchild: Raeleigh. He was preceded in death by his parents: Wade and Myrtis Long and wife; Essie Long  of 40 plus years.

The family has scheduled a "Celebration of Life" for January 17, 2020 at the Panacea First Baptist Church at 4:00 P.M. with dinner to follow at Delle's house; 12 Chattahoochee St., Panacea, Florida.
