Brother Willie Calvin Mutch, Sr., the son of Benjamin James Mutch and Susie Mae Dawson Morris Scurry, was born August 20, 1947, in Greenville, Florida. Accepting Christ as his personal Savior, he joined Young Reaper Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville, Florida. Willie attended the public schools of Madison County before relocating to Tallahassee during his mid-teens.
On January 8, 1966, Willie married the love of his life, Eddia Mae Leonard, and remained until her demise in 2021. To this union, four children were born. Understanding the importance of providing for his family, Willie retained employment at Coca-Cola and Capital City Lumber Company. It was often said that Willie could drive anything on wheels; therefore, earning him the name MAP among his co-workers. However, he was affectionately known as Boo to his family and friends.
"Boo" loved fishing and watching football, especially his favorite team, the Washington Redskins (Washington Commanders), and most of all spending time with his family.
On Sunday, October 13, 2024, Willie answered His Master's Call. Cherishing Willie's love and legacy are his children, Willie Calvin Mutch, Jr., Eileen Cycloria Mutch, and Josette M. Mutch, all of Tallahassee, FL; seventeen grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers, Johnny (Erma) Morris, Fred (Cynthia) Morris, Ray (Melissa) Morris, Jimmy Morris, Bennie Morris, and Earnest (Monica) Mutch; sisters, Annie (Eddie) McCray, Johnnie (Earnest) Redding, Barbara (Greg) Hagan, Mynor Chapman, Carolyn Barney, and Ida Barnes; many other relatives, and friends.
